The extreme winters will be rarer due to the climate change

The long cold winters in the Northeastern United States became major concerns world over. The event technically froze all the activities in the region. When the whole world is questioning this event as an effect of the climate change, scientists are pointing towards contradictory results.

The researchers at the California Institute of Technology and ETH Zurich have concluded that the global warming is not responsible for the severe winters in the United States. From past two years US has been suffering from the extreme winters resulting in full freezing of the Niagara Falls and even the ice formation in the Great Lakes region. The photos and videos of the snow covered United States went viral on the social media. The simplest explanation given by the experts was that the warming of the Arctic Ocean due to global warming resulted in the cold winds around the Northeastern United States.

But the latest study by the scientist has proved that such kind of temperature variations will become rare as the Earth warms up. The warmer temperature means that the scale of the temperature fluctuations will be smaller too. The research was published in the latest issue of the Climate, a scientific journal.

The international body on the climate change called as Intergovernmental Panel on the Climate Change informed that as temperatures become uniform in the mid latitudes such incidents will rarely happen. The further research by these scientists will explore the impact of the heat waves on the Europe and identifying systems formed by those heat waves.
