No causalities were reported in the wake of a group of four tornadoes that struck some regions of Texas. The strong winds were capable of tearing off roofs, as well as other structures. People rushed for cover while the group of tornadoes did their job in the area adjoining southwest of Fort Worth over the weekend.
Many inches of rain coupled with hail as big as ping-pong balls inundated the roads of the region. The situation resembled flash-floods where low-lying areas in Texas were filled with water from the storm.
Experts traced the tornado to the south of Stephenville where there was a slight instance of hail on Sunday measured as 1-inch. It assumed the form of a tornado that had hail measuring 4 inches. It crashed on roadways before vehicles, striking their windshields.
The situation was compounded by the fact that the tornado was unpredictable. Severe weather had hit other parts of the state like Bosque and Erath. Several parts of Dallas had been flooded with water quite severely.
Agencies like the American Red Cross are involved in the assessment of the damage done by the tornado. This is going to be helpful in providing assistance to the needy. Several grieved families are in urgent need of help and rehabilitation. People in different countries are being provided with cots and blankets.
Shelters are being opened for those afflicted by the tragedy. People rushed to seek refuge at places like the city library. But the worst is not yet over. There are forecasts of winds to the tune of 70 mph. There are possibilities of hailstorms and tornadoes.
